Parents Anniversary…happie anniversary!
Tuesday, January 9th, 200728th Dec is a very special day for my Daddy and Mommy. It has become a tradition for my family to celebrate this memorable day. The reason for all the fuss?? This special day is my parent’s wedding anniversary!! This year, it will be their 21st anniversary…twenty-one golden years. That’s a pretty long while isn’t it? As usual, my sis and I will prepare something for that day…every year we will make something special as a surprise for my parents. Ha-ha. Hoping this tradition of ours will go on for generations. =P
So, this year I have spent about half of my hols slowly crafting out my anniversary card for my parents. We always did a special letter to express ourselves better and show them our gratitude for their existence in our lives. Kinda funny, rite? this should explain why we have such a special bond with our parents. (Song: Brahma of my heart paling in the background) I have been laughed at and teased about my family… but we still support each other in our special way. No one understands why I’m so emotional about my family…and no one can. Luckily for me, my good buddies understand my priorities and respect my principle. I really thank them for understanding and still being there for me. Thank you. (all this makes me wanna cry)=’)
This year we decided to spend this day at Kuala Selangor. Coincidently, my sis’s PMR results were released at the same day. We were actually going to get her results first before taking off. Unfortunately, we were told that the results could only be released at 2pm. (too late lah!) So, we ended up leaving it till tomorrow. We settled down and drove all the way down Kuala Selangor. Along the way, we stopped by for a drink of young coconut drink. How refreshing! Poor Tinkerbelle could only watch us from the window as we quench our thirst with the sweet drink. U won’t believe it but the drink actually smelt like pandan…so it’s called kelapa pandan muda! After getting back on the road, we looked around for directions…u know la, being a girl, I’m not so good with directions. Ha-ha… so I kena marah a few times la as usual. Finally, we reached our destination – Pasir Penampang. Lunch was decided at a nearby restaurant. The food was delicious or maybe we were hungry but it was all my favourites anyway. You could say it was a seafood paradise. Being the cockle lover, I indulged myself. Simply lovely! yummy…=P
Next stop, we went to Bukit Melawati, historical fort of Kuala Selangor. It was surrounded with lush greenery and at the foothill of Bukit Melawati is Taman Alam. Located in the middle of a small town, this fort was built during the 70’s as a fort used to protect the shore against pirates and enemies. In which, explains why so many cannons are around the area. Standing at the top of the hill is a small Lighthouse; it looked elegant in white providing directions for fishermen at night. Silver Marque monkeys surround the area, they were all over the trees…it’s all silver in colour. Surprisingly, its baby is golden orange in colour. They are quite a sight to behold. I have to admit I was quite intimidated by monkeys but they were pretty tame and villagers bought food for them. So cute! =)
The weather was pretty good, but a little warm. We stopped by for tea at a kopitiam called Auntie Kopitiam. The ice coffee was good…I mean really GOOD. Just nice not too sweet and smells great. Mmm…Next stop we went on to visit my dad’s old school where he once taught. At least, he thinks it’s the right school. Everything has changed through the years so much. He even tried to show us the house he once lived. The village is a small low-cost housing area populated with Malays and Chinese living harmoniously with each other. Makes me feel proud to be a Malaysian…=)
Finally, it’s dinner time. We wandered around the nearby neighbourhood at Pasir Penampang. The road was a bumpy one and a short stop at a temple. We payed our respects at the village temple. A nice little girl gave us the directions to the places where there’s FOOD. We finally decided on a riverside restaurant and tucked in to the sumptous food served. Mmmm…delicious!
It was a great end to our trip..the rest of the trip straight home was kinda like a blur to me (coz i was sleeping all the way) hehe. yawn…ZzzZzz
